The World’s Most Underrated Travel

Posted on July 6, 2016 By

How popular a country is as a travel destination, has as much to do with image as it has to do with how interesting a place is to visit or how accessible or affordable it is. Some simply want to go somewhere because it looks nice while others are drawn to specific locations – whether it’s Tuscany, India or Mauritius – as the image presented by these destinations fits their own personal aspirations. While popular tourist magnets, such as Australia or New Zealand, excel at self promotion, other equally deserving destinations fare less well in the image stakes; they may be a little of the beaten track, have suffered from poor leadership, or simply have failed to sufficiently promote their own attractions. Nevertheless, some of these less appreciated destinations have far more to offer curious independent travellers, than their more adeptly promoted rivals.

Here are some of the world’s most underrated destinations:

Uzbekistan

The three great Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are architecturally outstanding, incredibly atmospheric and great value for money. Majestic mosques and medressas, and huge, ornately tiled minarets seem to reach for

South American Travel Destinations

Posted on July 5, 2016 By

South American travel destinations are growing in popularity, and offer the travel some unique ecological and cultural places of interest. We chose Latin America because we love the food and culture of Latin America.

We began traveling to Mexico in the early 1970’s as kids, way before the million dollar condo projects…or roads for that matter. As adults we continued vacationing in Mexico and often traveled with our kids. It was really a natural extension for us to push further south and include Central America and South America in our travel plans.

There are many great South American travel sites, we only include a few here that our family hopes to visit. All of these are easily visited by arranging the trip yourself or tour companies will have these available in their South America travel packages.

Visiting the Amazon is on the list of everyone that travels to South America. Beginning in Peru, the Amazon winds its way out of the Andes through many South American countries and through Northern Brazil before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean.

Cons of Tour Travelling

Posted on June 4, 2016 By

There are pros and cons to both taking a tour and to planning a trip on your own and being in control of your own destinations. I have done both and have enjoyed each one.

Pros of Tour Travelling:

– Everything is looked after for you, i.e.: your large pieces of luggage. You just have to look after your personal items and get where you’re supposed to be on time. When travelling on your own, you are in charge of all your luggage and it can be a lot of hard work depending on the type of travel and places you are going.

– Many of the meals are included. You don’t have to scout around or find suitable restaurants. For the meals not included, restaurants, or at least areas, will be recommended to you with suggestions of places to stay away from.

– You have a pretty good idea of what your trip is going to cost you. There will be extra costs but you can limit them because you know what they will be, i.e.: optional tours, the meals that are not
